Robot Ownership
Understand which fleet and organization a robot belongs to, and which organization is billed for it. For Owners and Admins.
Every robot in Rover Nexus has two associations:
- Fleet — the robot belongs to exactly one fleet. The fleet determines who can see and operate the robot, through the fleet's roles and any cross-organization sharing.
- Billing organization — the organization responsible for the robot's charges.
These can differ. A fleet may be shared with other organizations (see Fleet Access), so people from more than one organization may operate a robot — but only the billing organization is charged for it.
Which fleet a robot belongs to
A robot is added to a fleet when it is enrolled. To move a robot, reassign it to a different fleet from the fleet management view. Access to the robot follows the new fleet immediately. See Add a robot and Fleets.
The billing organization
The billing organization is the organization that pays for a robot. By default this is the organization that owns the fleet the robot belongs to.
- A robot has exactly one billing organization at a time.
- Sharing a fleet with another organization does not change which organization is billed.
For how billing is set up or transferred and what charges apply per robot, see pricing and licensing, or contact [email protected].
