Create a Mission

Goal: Build a reusable mission template that you can dispatch or schedule to robots later.

Before you begin

  • You need permission to create missions (typically Fleet Planner or Fleet Manager).
  • If your mission works over an area, deploy the relevant feature first. See Deploy features to a robot.

Steps

  1. In the top navigation, click PathLab.
  2. On the map overlay bar, open the Create menu and click New Mission. The Mission Designer opens.
  3. In Mission Name, enter a name (for example, Field Mowing Template).
  4. (Optional) Add a Description of what the template does.
  5. Select the Spatial Feature the mission operates on (such as a boundary or coverage path).
  6. Choose the required robot Actions for this mission.
  7. Set any Mission Parameters the template needs.
  8. Open Mission Rules if this template is part of a multi-step process. Choose whether it may run Always, After a different mission, or After specific missions. You can also allow robots to start the process here and set the template's priority.
  9. Click Save to store the template.

Saved templates appear in the Mission Templates panel (the Missions item in the sidebar) and become steps in the fleet's single operation. They are also available when you dispatch or schedule missions.
