Create a Mission

Goal: Build a reusable mission template that you can dispatch or schedule to robots later.

Before you begin

  • You need permission to create missions (typically Fleet Planner or Fleet Manager).
  • If your mission works over an area, deploy the relevant feature first. See Deploy features to a robot.

Steps

  1. In the top navigation, click PathLab.
  2. On the toolbar, click Make Mission. The Mission Designer opens.
  3. In Mission Name, enter a name (for example, Field Mowing Template).
  4. (Optional) Add a Description of what the template does.
  5. Select the Spatial Feature the mission operates on (such as a boundary or coverage path).
  6. Choose the Required Capabilities a robot must have to run this mission.
  7. Set any Mission Parameters the template needs.
  8. Click Save to store the template.

Saved templates appear in the Templates panel and are available when you dispatch or schedule missions.
