Teleoperate a Robot

Goal: Take direct manual control of a robot with live video and a gamepad.

Before you begin

  • You need permission to teleoperate robots on the fleet.
  • The robot must have a camera and teleop configured. See Configure a camera.
  • Connect a gamepad to your computer before starting.

Steps

  1. In the top navigation, click Fleet.
  2. Find the robot you want to control.
  3. Click that robot's Teleop button. The Teleoperation screen opens for the robot.
  4. Click Connect to Camera to start the session. Wait for the live video to appear.
  5. Confirm your gamepad is detected, then use it to drive the robot while watching the video feed.
  6. When you're finished, click Disconnect to end the session.

!!! warning You are in direct control during a teleop session. Keep the video in view and be ready to stop. Review the teleoperation safety guidance before operating.
