Fleets
A fleet is a named collection of robots that you plan and operate as a group.
What it is
Fleets are how Rover Nexus organizes robots for work. You assign missions, run operations, and view live telemetry at the fleet level, so a fleet is usually the main thing an operator looks at day to day. A fleet belongs to one organization but can be shared with others.
How it works
- Robots. A fleet contains individual robots, which can be mixed-vendor. Each robot reports its own telemetry and capabilities.
- Fleet roles. Access to a fleet is governed by a fleet role:
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Manager | Full control of the fleet, its robots, and planning |
| Planner | Build mission templates, plan features and areas |
| Operator | Dispatch missions and send commands to robots |
| Viewer | Read-only access to status and telemetry |
- Cross-organization sharing. A fleet can be shared with another organization. The share carries a role cap (the highest fleet role the other organization's members can have) and an optional expiration.
